This is a contradictory idea, since in most other circumstances we are encouraged to drink more water to stay hydrated and protect our hearts. However, in heart failure, too much fluid can overload the heart and exacerbate symptoms. It is therefore essential to discuss your fluid intake needs with your doctor.
